1. Meeting Point: Catédral Metropolitana, Zócalo, Historic Center

Start in the heart of Mexico City, surrounded by history, before diving into its flavors.

2. First Stop: Tamal & Atole

Begin like a true local’s breakfast: a warm tamal wrapped in corn husk, paired with a comforting cup of atole, (ancient corn-based hot drink).

3. Second Stop: Mexican Gastronomy’s Museum

Travel through the history of Mexican cuisine, from ancient Mesoamerican traditions to modern gastronomy. Discover the ingredients, techniques, and cultural influences that have shaped one of the world’s richest culinary heritages.

4. Third Stop: Tlayuda or tacos de canasta

Enjoy a crunchy Oaxacan-style tlayuda (Mexican pizza) with beans, cheese, and salsa or tacos de canasta (‘basket tacos’) are Mexico’s favorite steamed street tacos—warm, tasty, and perfect on the go.

5. Fourth Stop: Tlacoyo or Quesadilla

Taste pre-Hispanic flavors with a blue-corn tlacoyo, (stuffed corn dough) a topped with fresh nopal (cactus) and cheese — or a quesadilla straight off the comal.

6. Final Stop: Ancient Elixir

End your journey with a visit to a traditional pulquería, a historic tavern where locals gather to enjoy pulque, a pre-Hispanic fermented beverage made from the sap (aguamiel) of the maguey plant.
